Nancy is a mariachi woman who was unfairly imprisoned after being mistaken for a human trafficker as she attempted to cross the border into the United States. Now she lives in Mexico with her husband, Teo, with whom she has a son. Every day she goes to Mexico City's Garibaldi Square, the most important meeting point for mariachis in the world, where she is one of very few mariachi women, and she sings to support her family.

Two mountaineers undertake a clandestine expedition to Popocatépetl, one of the most active and dangerous volcanoes on the planet. Faced with the inability to predict explosions, which occur very frequently, surviving or not is a matter of chance. Along the way, the mystique of the landscape manifests itself strongly in these forbidden badlands, and the mountain, the closest point to heaven and divinity, is at the same time, the only window towards the core of the earth.

A p'urhépecha fisherman meditates on his last days. In the lake that surrounds his home, different times coexist, the moon rises the tide and with its light reveals secrets that are not visible through the day. A few time remains before the fisherman is trapped forever in the mystical waters where all the voices whisper.
