An old lady left alone seriously thinks about suicide, when a young woman suddenly bursts into her life and puts her into a vortex of suspicions, generosity, ambiguity, which will give her back a glimmer of life and joy, even if final.

Sid grew up with his mother Arabella in a cheerful and somewhat naïve Apulian community, which was filled with affection and a great passion for cinema. After years away he returns to the land of his childhood where his mother had created a cinematic arena and this trip in his childhood memories will lead to a better understanding of her human and existential aspects.

Elena, a young trainee psychiatrist, dreams of bringing "mad" people back to a normal life; she makes them talk, she provokes and incites them in the hope of finding the distinguishing signs of normality. Fausto is a boy judged "mad", who has been hospitalized against his will several times, an extrovert musician, he shows clear signs of normality.
