1828. In the wake of the repression of revolutionary uprisings in the monarchist South, three young friends join Giuseppe Mazzini's patriotic cause, seeking to finally unify Italy under a republican government. Their idealism will clash with the inevitable disillusionment as they grow apart over the following fifty years.

The rise and fall of a blind artist who has the extraordinary gift of making true-to-life portraits just by listening to human voices, and of becoming a TV-junk star. A fable on the need to rediscover the miraculous power of dignity in a world where media's noise has solved the problem of man's imperfection simply by removing the problem itself.

Couple Andrea and Giulia, an outwardly successful couple, are having problems in the bedroom. When Giulia invites Max, an old friend from high school, to stay in the family home with their teenage son, some new attitudes begin to form.

Tragedy struck when Father Abraham was ready to save the world from an evil menace using exorcism. Years later, he lives on a remote farm with his daughter, haunted by the faces of those he saved and those he could not. After finding that pale humanoid creature lurking in the woods, he shoots and cremates the monster. But he soon discovers that the beast was not alone; his troubles have only begun.

Candida is a fifteen year old from Sicily, who lives with her father Salvo. When he loses his job, they leave for Turin. Candida has to integrate in a new school where she is bullied, as does her partner Jacopo. But thanks to her positivity, it will be Candida who will let Jacopo out of his isolation, making him discover that everything is good, even when it is not great.

Through the personal memory of the view of the director who in first person re-lives, after fifty years, the journey of his family towards Argentina, where he was born, on the inside of the last emmigration groups of people from Piedmont in 1948. This journey of memory and emotions gradually becomes an outline for the analysis of the situation of the emmigrants from Piedmont and of their presence from after the war until today in Argentina from the time of Peron until the economical crises through the blood thirsty and dark period of the military dictatorship.
