In 1987, as martial law ends in Taiwan, Jia-han and Birdy fall in love amid family pressure, homophobia and social stigma.

Stranded in Montreal, Proxy, a troubled DJ, meets an alluring artist and his group of friends who run an underground radio station. Not knowing for sure whether she is actually seeking a cure, together with Aya, her 24-year-old daughter, Sana embarks on a road trip that takes them on a tumultuous and overwhelming journey of initiation that may prove to be their last journey together.
