Bad Manners

In an exclusive club called "The Pink”, writer and mom-to-be Riley has a chance to join the “boss babe” culture. With dermatologists at your beck and call, decked-out work stations — and you can bring your kids too? Riley can’t pass this up, but she isn’t sure she can afford it or fits in. When she meets Star, founder of The Pink, she’s reassured that there’s no catch, but can Riley really trust this too-good-to-be-true situation?

Against his—or anyone else's—better judgment, Carl decides to crash an event where he is no longer welcome, setting off a day filled with betrayal, violence, heartache, and exes who should never get back together. When Carl discovers he isn't the only unwanted guest in the desert, he is forced to decide whether to save himself or risk everything for those who have wronged him.

The mood is heated. Demonstrations are taking place across France, also in front of the Paris hotel where an Italian named Giorgio is booking the bridal suite for him and his boyfriend Antonio. Hotel manager Diana doesn’t trust them and calls the police to get rid of the odd couple. Italians? Homosexuals? Criminals? In the charged atmosphere of the Hotel Occidental, little is needed for initial suspicions to be aroused.

Vengeance emerges from a collaboration between Neïl Beloufa and a group of junior students from the banlieue of Paris. The failure of the film’s original process is incorporated in the final result, which reflects on the limits and challenges of artistic social practices.

As monuments continue to be toppled, relocated and reassessed all over the world, this documentary takes us to Dubai, Kuwait City, Abu Dhabi and Sanaa, questioning what defines monuments -what they are and what they could become, while retracing their non-linear biographical trajectories. In these cities, they have been virtually understudied and their stories remain invisible. Monumenting retraces them as we follow how participants to the research process engage in guessing rather than asserting what they know. Without noticing it, we are invited into a research journey in which diverse voices offer an unusual approach to cities in the Arabian Peninsula and a kaleidoscopic mapping of monuments and memory.
