The contrast of the parallel lives of two women personified in a single actress (Delfina Guzmán). Despite the radical differences between their lives, they are intimately connected to each other. Candelaria is a vagabond in Parque Forestal, crazy but happy. In contrast, in a comfortable and luxurious apartment, lives Laura, who is harassed by the greed of her children and her lover, who will not rest until they strip her of her fortune and expel her from the country.

During a protest, French priest André Jarlan was shot and killed on September 4, 1984, in the La Victoria neighborhood of Santiago. The residents arrived on foot to the Cathedral demanding justice, also offering a testimony of love and solidarity with their pastor. In parallel, the documentary tells the story of the 1957 occupation that gave rise to the town. It also reveals the strong organization of the residents, essential in addressing the economic hardship and repression suffered by one of the main popular bastions of opposition to the military dictatorship. Pierre Dubois, the parish priest of La Victoria, played a leading role in the attempt to stop the violence against the residents of the town. In recognition of his work, he was granted Chilean nationality in 2001.

Chilean documentary that records a demonstration organized by the collective Women for Life (Mujeres por la Vida), held on August 29, 1988, in Paseo Ahumada in Santiago. During this public intervention, a thousand life-size black silhouettes were placed throughout the street as a symbolic memorial to the victims of repression during the military regime of Augusto Pinochet. The action sought to make visible the detained and disappeared, exiles, political prisoners, and all those affected by political violence in Chile at a time when many of these realities were still being silenced. Through the documentation of the protest, the film captures the collective’s call to remember and to keep historical memory alive, while the demonstration is eventually met with violent police repression.
