We will focus on the line's Pennsy Heritage and see remnants of the Pennsylvania Railroads legacy in the Louisville area. We will visit Clagg Tower, the 14th Street bridge, which allowed the Pennsy to gain access to Louisville, former locations of the Pennsy roundhouse and engine facilities, Panama yard, and we will learn more about the history of the Pennsy's occupation in this area and more about the business and industries it once served. The Keystone emblem is alive and well in 2015 and the LIRC carries the torch for one of the great fallen flags.

You'll see passenger operations from Chicago, Illinois to South Bend, Indiana and experience freight action with "Little Joe's" and ex-Chessie Geep 7's. These films were taken during one of the South Shore's darkest hours. A period when parent railroad, Chessie, was petitioning the ICC to abandon passenger service. But the South Shore survives today with an all new passenger fleet. This DVD covers operations from Randolf Street to South Bend. You'll see fall colors, as well as summer and winter scenes! The South Shore line truly is "The Little Train That Did."

Volume 2 takes over where Volume 1 left off, in early 1962. We will see passenger trains from: Milwaukee Road, CB&Q, Santa Fe, Penn Central, Gulf, Mobile and Ohio, Grand Trunk, Great Northern, Northern Pacific (and eventually the Burlington Northern), and Illinois Central. We haven't forgotten you freight fans either. You'll see freight on most of the railroads mentioned above as well on: Chicago & North Western, Soo Line, Elgin, Joliet & Eastern, Indiana Harbor Belt, Rock Island, Chicago & Eastern Illinois. There are cameo appearances on the Chesapeake & Ohio as well as the Baltimore & Ohio. We'll catch commuter action on many of these roads as well: the Chicago, South Shore and South Bend, Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee, and the Chicago Transit Authority. You'll witness the changes in motive power and equipment on many of these commuter lines. We end our tour of Chicago in 1973.
