Basque Country, Spain, 1843. A police constable arrives at a small village in Álava to investigate a mysterious blacksmith who lives alone deep in the woods.

Mother wakes up in the middle of the night, disturbed by noises coming from her daughter Angela's room. When she gets there she realizes that her daughter isn't acting normal.

In the 1960s (Basque Country), Gartzia, Miren, and their baby are barely getting by in an isolated farmhouse. In a desperate attempt to escape poverty, Gartzia buys a fighting bull, but the plan backfires when the animal becomes uncontrollable. Tension builds until one day, the baby disappears.
