FRAGMENT | In the cellars of Kronborg, a fully armed Holger the Dane sits quietly sleeping when he is suddenly called into action. Princess Gloriant has fallen into the clutches of the heathen giant Burmand, so Holger must act swiftly. Fortunately, he arrives in time to prevent the abductor from harming his intended victim. Only a fragment of the film has been preserved. In its entirety, it told the tales related in the two legends about ‘Holger Danske and Didrik the Strong’ and ‘Holger Danske and Burmand’. FRAGMENT | The Family Steffensen lives on a farm in Southern Jutland. The area has been under German rule for 60 years, when WW I suddenly breaks out. The possibility of regaining the lost land brings new hope to the border people, but the poor Steffensen's farm is threatened by compulsory sale. Secretly, the youngest son runs off to Denmark to get money, but he doesn't make it back before his parents are forced out of their home. Surprisingly, the family's farm laborer has come into money and acquires the farm. The restored film is only a fragment of the original film. The fragment consists of the film's ending, where it's exposed who the mystical farm laborer really is. (stumfilm.dk)

Count Adam sends his son Jørgen abroad to thwart his relationship with Grete, a common miller’s daughter. On the trip, Jørgen is captivated by the exotic Baroness Tarnowa. When it’s discovered that Fanny, a poor cigar worker, is frequenting the quarters of the manufacturer’s rich son, she’s banished from both home and work. All hope seems to be lost for Fanny, but her luck turns when she’s hired as a cigar roller at a cigar shop – or that’s what she thinks. It quickly transpires that the “cigar shop” is merely a cover for shadier affairs. Together with “Piphans” and other bandits, Fanny has to roll something completely different than cigars. Ambrosius Stub is elated when he gets the position as a writer, working for the Baron. This means a steady income and new experiences, as well as various new acquaintances. The fragment consists of three scenes from The Old Merchant’s Home. The first scene shows the meeting between a distinguished man (played by Philip Beck), a beautiful young woman, and another man. In the next scene, a train draws up at a platform. A boy is standing in the foreground, looking at the camera. In the last scene, a woman is sitting in a living room, sewing. When Consul Bjørn is unexpectedly summoned to a meeting in town, he leaves his wife home alone in their luxury villa. At the same time, a cunning criminal has escaped his pursuers. His gang of robbers overpower the consul, steal his clothes, and the ‘Face Thief’ impersonates the consul so that he can rob the family. Everything is peace and quiet at the family Kemp's house in Sønderborg, but danger is lurking outside their doors. The war has just begun, and the young Valdemar Kemp goes away to fight for his mother country. The Danish soldiers put up a brave fight on the battlefield, but the German army is to strong. The film is the second 1910 film adaptation of Heiberg’s classic about foundling children, superstitions and star-crossed lovers. Near Elves’ Hill (Elverhøjen) lives Karen, a superstitious farmer’s wife, with her daughter Agnete. Agnete and the noble Sir Ebbesen are very much in love, but to their great sorrow Ebbesen is betrothed to the noble-born Elisabeth Munk. But not everything is as it seems. For Karen is not Agnete’s real mother: she found the baby girl on Elves’ Hill the very same night that the infant Elisabeth Munk, goddaughter of King Christian IV, disappeared from her parents’ home. Two lively and famous Petersens, namely Robert Storm and Hans W., play prominent roles in this little comedy about a morally vigilant pharmacist, his somewhat more cheerful son, his crush on the pharmacy’s new cashier, Miss Hansen, and the equally enthusiastic two Petersens. Joy of life and free spirit clash with virtue and double standards in Copenhagen's nightlife, and the film’s programme is inscribed with the proclamation: ’The morality you display is not always the best!’ (Stumfilm.dk).

FRAGMENT | Karl of Riise must say goodbye to his beloved Rigmor when he’s summoned by King Valdemar. He must take a message of reinforcements to the oppressed warriors in Estonia. Jeppe Aakjær's heroic poem about Jens Langkniv becomes something more than the story of a robber in a small parish in Jutland.

A young man finds employment as an apprentice in a grocery store. As he is short of money for his sick mother’s medicine and furthermore is eager to ask a charming girl out, he succumbs to temptation and steals from the till. Caught red-handed, he is sentenced to two years in a correctional institution. By the time he is released, his old mother has died of grief and poverty, and he is reduced to begging passers-by for alms. While begging, he becomes involved in a tragic incident that once again sends him fleeing through the city. (Stumfilm.dk)

Film adaptation of H.C. Andersen’s famous fairy tale of the same name from 1845. A little girl walks through the snow-covered streets on New Year’s Eve, trying to sell matches. Out of fear of returning home to her abusive father without having sold anything, she braves the cold and lights one match after another to keep warm.
