Frantic Attempts poster
Movie

Matthias is going on a weekend course of self-discovery called “My Value on Earth,” which was an expensive gift from his girlfriend. The course is supposed to help him deal with his chronic inability to finish things that he’s started. But before Matthias leaves, his girlfriend springs a surprise on him: he’s going to be a father. And so he hopes to use the weekend, which he has no real desire to go on, to answer new and pressing questions. The “alternative” therapist, however, doesn’t inspire much trust. The tragicomedy Frantic Attempts takes aim at the field of personal development, in particular, dubious therapists who offer quick fixes. After all, what if we should answer our existential questions ourselves instead of trying to find answers from others?

Fear poster
Movie

A man being pursued comes face to face with himself and learns to accept his own identity by no longer running away, but rather confronting it. It's about change, personal growth and self reflection. With a silhouette style I wanted to enlarge the effect for the viewer of identifying yourself with the character/situation. To create a feeling of acceptance and relief, hopefully motivating them. The film is really built on metaphors. A lot is 'foreshadowed' so that the viewer hopefully understands what it all means at the end, just like a title sequence for a series for example, only then as a short film. The title also has sort of role in the film, changing as the character confronts his fear.

10 Meter poster
Movie

The film is about a high diver who is about to make a jump from a 10-meter diving platform. It isn’t as much about the jump itself but rather the character’s journey to be able to make the jump.

Dad Said poster
Movie

Young Freya loves her dad, even though he doesn't always give the same amount of love back. She learns that it’s not always easy to get recognition from your parents. We follow her journey and while growing up she develops a passion for climbing. However, her father doesn’t approve of it. His strong opinion weighs heavy on her and she carries his words with her, until it has taken over her life. She learns to overcome his negativity by realizing those words are just something her dad said and does not say anything about her worth. By accepting herself for who she is, she learns how to break free from her father’s opinion. In this animated short full of metaphors, the gravity of the theme is combined with stylized design, bright colors and analog textures. So it will ease us into the vulnerability of what a parent-child relationship can entail.

Wine Wenches poster
Movie

Together with numerous bottles of wine, three girls come rolling out of a car, on their way to the club. There, we witness the familiar nightlife affairs, including debauched dancing, crowded ladies rooms and grabby old guys. Before long, the ‘wine broads’ from this colourful, comic animation film get into a quarrel with other women, resulting in a huge and sweeping bar brawl. But even when the ladies end up in jail, it does not put an end to the festivities.
