A young girl, cook Varia, loses her job because no one needs her haute cuisine in a roadside café. Sweet, energetic, witty – she runs as far away from home as possible in search of realization! But an unexpected discovery – a book by the forgotten legend of Ukrainian cuisine Olha Franko changes her life forever and inspires her to go local, instead of trendy!

A funny story of Lviv batiars (noble tramps) who live with the slogan: "To love Lviv, women, and jokes". To make their lives bright, they resort to various adventures, while remaining positive heroes. Unexpectedly, the batiars become guardians of a young beauty, and their adventures are gaining new momentum. The film's events take place in Lviv in 1938-1939.

Anya and her beloved Yurko come to visit the girl’s parents in the Ukrainian Carpathian village in the summer. At the Ivan Kupala celebration, a local heartthrob named Ivanka, nicknamed Morena, puts her eye on and charms him. Strange and mystical events begin to happen to lovers after meeting with Morena. A conflict breaks out between girls – their relationship turns into a desperate war that leaves blood in their wake. This feud will forever change them.

Karlsruhe, Germany, 1962. KGB agent Bogdan Stashynskii is trialed for the assasination of Ukrainian revolutionary and head of the now disbanded Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, Stepan Bandera. However, Slava Stetsko and her spouse Yaroslav decide to take action and turn the trial into not just a memorial for Bandera, but into a through critique of the USSSR's web of political assasinations, but also the political indifference to the situation in the West.
