Iliteracy today seems to be a small problem globally, but it is hell for the individual illiterate that struggles alone in a hyper communicative era.

Carmen, a woman in her twenties, records videos every day for her deceased mother. As a way of processing her absence, she captures what remains of their relationship in the echoes of daily life. One day, a new neighbor moves in next door — Carita, a 10-year-old girl, along with her mother, Amalia, who has begun to show signs of memory loss. Carita also records videos every day, but hers are for a father she has never met. From the very beginning, Carmen and Carita spy on each other through their cameras, building a silent bond. One night, Carita discovers a hole in the closet of her room. When she crawls through it, she finds herself inside Carmen’s apartment.

Patricio’s (Bruno Bichir) wife has asked for a divorce, he can’t see his daughter and he has lost millions of dollars. Talk about a streak of bad luck! His eccentric friend offers him a room in a mansion that houses resident artists. There he meets Natalia (Karla Coronado), a young woman in charge of the mansion’s organic garden, with whom he establishes a relationship. A video installation about nuclear war will help him find his way again.

However, one day she finds out that something strange is happening at her parents house: an underground and latent discomfort grows week by week. Almost at the same time, Nacho, Marcela's father, loses his job and, with it, his self esteem. Marcela forgets about her own needs choosing instead to concentrate on her parents troubles and reestablishing family harmony.

May, a teenage girl wakes up on May 17th expecting a visitor. She gets ready, cleans her room and prepares food for two, but the visitor never arrives. The only thing that accompanies her is a tall, indistinguishable black figure that lingers in the corners of her house.

In 2013, self-defense groups originated in the state of Michoacán with the aim of eradicating cartels from their communities. But it was not until 2014, when in Nueva Italia, Michoacán, the self-defense groups looted and burned properties linked to drug trafficking, including the only existing cinema in the town. "Now what are we going to do if we don't have a cinema?" Asks one of the voices in the documentary.
