And we will follow that gaze—into the workshop of toy-making master Viktor Nazariti, into the village house of artist Maria Dreznina, into the old home of Yuri Macheret and Marina Faidysh, once bought from the Polenovs, into the garden of Irina Starzhenetskaya and Anatoliy Komelin. The artistic dynasties of the Vatagins, Bragovskiys, and Birshteins will open their doors, pouring the energy of creativity onto their canvases, joining us in gazing into the mist rising from the ravines—wondering if, for a fleeting moment, eyes from the past will appear within it.

A fine thread weave scraps at the crossroads of the art cinema, documentary and improvisation with the participation of residents of the five authentic regions of Russia. The characters of the film, artists and fashion designers, will go through the way of reflection and rethinking the outgoing culture, becoming participants of amazing rites and witnesses of the disappearing way of life. Drama, comedy, phantasmagoria - everything is connected with a thin thread with folk philosophy, sadness and beauty of folk culture, ancient signs and new readings.

Antarctica. The Russian polar station Bellingshausen. For a whole year, in complete isolation from the Big Land, fifteen people live here. They hibernate. Wintering is two or three shielded houses on stilts, only snow and ice around. Cold, wind, dark. Space and a long, slow winter ...

The film tells about the Russian North - the territory of unique wooden architecture and one of the few places in the country where a Russian person can realize the origins of his culture and spiritual development. It was here that people were found who were ready to revive the traditional rural way of life in spite of globalization and the state policy of urbanization.
