A series of suspicious deaths, starting with that of her boyfriend Kawazu Masayuki, prompts mystery novelist Yuki Rikako to investigate. She discovers that all the victims were once passengers on the same cruise ship a year ago and involved in an accident that left one man dead. Rikako must find out what really happened during that outing before more casualties result.

Detective Suguro is enjoying a stay at a luxurious hotel in Wakayama. Also staying at the hotel is an unusual family led by rich widow Mrs. Hondo. She acts like a tyrant around her children, who are afraid of her and are at her beck and call. Unfortunately, a tragedy strikes the Hondo Family while on a hike to a local shrine. Mrs. Hondo, who was supposed to be taking a rest on the way, is found dead. Kawahara Daisaku, the chief of the local police station, asks Suguro to help with the investigation of Mrs. Hondo’s death.

Kasane Fuchi is the daughter of a beautiful, legendary actress. Kasane has excellent acting skills as well, but she is not attractive. She has a hard time due to her unattractiveness. Kasane has a lipstick left behind by her late mother. The lipstick holds a strange power. Whenever Kasane applies the lipstick and kisses someone, she takes that person's face. Meanwhile, Nina Tanzawa is a beautiful actress with poor acting skills. She meets Kasane Fuchi and their fates change.

Kie Hirano is an ordinary OL who often daydreams. Mitsumasa Kodai at the same company as Kie Hirano, but he is an elite salaryman. He is the eldest son in the Kodai family and he is also telepathic. Mitsumasa Kodai got his special ability to read other people's mind from his British grandmother. Mitsumasa becomes attracted to Kie's warm heart and her dreamy temperament. They begin to date and enjoy their days together, but Mitsumasa Kodai's mother calls.
