Yuri has assembled the Volunteer Army in an effort to defeat the Black King, who threatens to destroy the land with his Black Army, corrupting miasma, and nihilistic attitude. All the forces from assorted powers and races across the land of Yggdra have rallied behind his cause, but at the critical moment in what should be the final battle, Yuri and his allies are defeated by the Black King, the magical Chain Chronicle which records the history of the land is torn in half, and their sprite companion Pirika, who is the embodiment of the world's will, vanishes. After being forced to retreat, the Volunteer Army is left to pick up the pieces, and the alliance disintegrates. But even as the world seems to be succumbing to the dark influence of the Black King, a new hope emerges in the form of Aram, a young man with an unusual magical ability that could end up being the key to turning things around. Movie 1 (Episodes 1-4)
On their way through the Maze Pass to the mines where a great artifact has been discovered, Yuri and Aram get separated from the rest in the blizzard. Aram acquires a cute little mascot, while the black infection starts to ply Yuri's mind with doubts about his mission and purpose. Meanwhile Juliana has finally decided to take on the full position and responsibilities of succeeding her father to become the Holy Queen, and her entreaty to Shuza, leader of the ogres, to join in a new Black King Suppression Army has an unexpected effect. A planned trip to Spirit Island could provide a valuable clue for where to find Pirika, a journey which must be completed even after calamity strikes. As allies start to fall into despair, Aram begins to shine brighter as the young man who could potentially turn this hopeless situation around. Movie 2 (TV episodes 5-8)
Set in the land of Yuguto, the people thought that the land they live is the size of the world, but it’s actually divided into several areas, each with a respective king. Even though there were small wars among areas, the kings had roundtable meetings to maintain peace and balance. It was until a dark group of dark monsters appeared. Chain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas is the first of a trilogy of movies, the TV series version is the movies chopped up into 20-minute segments with an opener, closer, and a small intro and recap added in to smooth out the runtime. Movie 3 (TV episodes 9-12).
