Cosmos: War of the Planets was released in 1977 and grossed a total of 123,200,000 Italian lire domestically in Italy. Recycling the film's actors, costumes, sets, and props, Brescia produced four loosely-connected sequels: Battle of the Stars, War of the Robots, Star Odyssey, and the adult film-inflected, The Beast in Space.
A strange signal arrives on the Earth disturbing all communications, while an UFO appears above the Antarctic sea. Captain Alex Hamilton is sent with his spaceship and crew to the space outside the Solar System to find the origin of that signal. They reach an unknown planet where a giant robot enslaved a whole population of humanoids by taking their psychic energies.
An alien vessel manages to break the earth defense systems. Captain Layton is sent to investigate and find the invaders. Together with friends from the planet Ganymed he discovers the enemies in a hidden underground city on earth.

In the future the struggle for space superiority has forced humanity to search the cosmos for a rare element called Antallum that is the key ingredient for the construction of neutron bombs. Starship captain Larry Madison and his crew are assigned to retrieve Antallum from the remote planet Lorigon. However, Madison and crew find themselves under the control of a powerful computer on Lorigon that incites everyone to have sex. Some versions feature brief adult scenes shot with body doubles.
