The Prophecy is an American fantasy horror-thriller film franchise, which focuses on Angels fighting each other to protect the survival of the human race on Earth. Produced by Dimension Film, the series was established in 1995 with the eponymous first installment, The Prophecy, which has since been followed by four direct-to-video sequels: The Prophecy II, The Prophecy III: The Assent, The Prophecy: Uprising, and The Prophecy: Forsaken.
The angel Gabriel comes to Earth to collect a soul which will end the stalemated war in Heaven, and only a former priest and a little girl can stop him.
The archangel Gabriel returns to try to destroy the human race he despises so much, with the help of a suicidal teen and the opposition of the angel Danyael.
As the War in Heaven and on Earth rages on, Pyriel, the Angel of Genocide, rises to power, intending to destroy all of mankind. The only one who stands in his way is street preacher Danyael, who was born of an Angel and a woman, the nephilim.
There exists an ancient manuscript still writing itself called the Lexicon. It supposedly tells of the coming of the Anti-Christ, and happens to fall into the hands of an unsuspecting woman. Now, she is being pursued by angels intent on obtaining the information from the book.
In Bucharest, theology student Allison is still protecting the mysterious Lexicon where the last chapter about the Antichrist could the win the stalemated war in heaven for either side. Meanwhile, the evil and jealous leader of the renegade angels, Stark, forces hit-man Dylan to kill Allison to get the information about the Antichrist, but Dylan begins to fall for her, protecting her at what cost?
