In the heirs, the friendship ends, as is well known - especially if the illegitimate scion of a count is to come unexpectedly to a million-fortune. In a bitter inheritance dispute, Paula Dennstein and Therese Schwarz are the lawyers of the parties to the dispute, who at eye level deliver a sophisticated exchange of blows and outdo each other in bluffing. While the idealistic career starter leaves no stone unturned to help her client to his rights, the lavish legal advocate of the noble family must prevent the family's reputation from getting under the wheels.
Lawyers Paula Dennstein and Therese Schwarz open a law firm together. But their first case is already a tough one. They have to protect a single widower from the fraudulent machinations of a prefabricated house company - pro bono, of course! But things are also going haywire in their private lives. While Paula's marriage threatens to collapse for good, Therese meets Thomas and is completely smitten by him. The attraction is obviously mutual, until Therese realizes who Thomas really is.
Therese Schwarz represents the politician Konrad Wagner, a close friend of Paula Dennstein, who was pilloried by a newspaper for his #MeToo stigma. Therefore, the surprise visit from her little sister Marita doesn't fit into her plan at all. Especially since Marita, along with Ferdinand, has come into sensitive contact with the police due to a cannabis incident. For Konrad's defense, it's important to identify the slanderer, but it's a race against time, as the state elections are just around the corner...
