Jiro (Jiro Sato) is a 32-year-old man who doesn't have a job. He lives at his parents' house and doesn't go outside or socialise with people. After the death of his father, Jiro's mother runs away and leaves behind a 6 month dog named Ichiro and some clues for Jiro. To find his mother, Jiro has to venture out into the world.

An unemployed middle-aged man, Shiba Jiro, who has been living at home for 38 years on his parents' back, breaks away from his NEET lifestyle through his mother's strategy. He works at a pet store and lives alone in an apartment with his partner, Ichiro Mameshiba, a dog.

4th installment in the "Mameshiba" series, adapted from the TV show. Jiro, who had successfully overcome his shut-in lifestyle but sought a life free from his mother's watchful eye, runs away from home with his beloved Mameshiba dog, Ichiro, and experiences various events in a seaside town.
